Hormone Balancing

“Hormones – who invented them?”

I am sure at times we have all, both male and female, said this and yes, hormones do have a lot to ‘answer for’. However like all processes in our body we can’t live without them.

Hormones are chemical messengers that are produced by glands in the body. They are delivered through the bloodstream and act on other organs in the body. One hormone is made from another hormone which acts with another to produce what is required. If this is out of control then the body will be out of balance.

Both men and women have hormones they are just different, women’s deal with PMS, fertility and menopause, men’s deal with fertility and prostrate. Both have very important thyroid hormones which deal with a vast array of functions within the body.

Women can experience many hormone imbalances such as Pre menstrual tension, depression, mood swings, skin problems anxiety, headaches, food cravings, fluid retention, heavy periods as well as period pain, loss of menstruation, hot flushes and menopausal symptoms.

Men can also have fertility problems caused by hormones and in later years prostrate issues. They can also experience mood changes if their thyroid is not functioning at normal levels.

Once the practitioner receives your results, a pathway to better hormone balancing can be individualised.
